Wow, it's only been a short two years since I quit selling real estate and began to speak on a full-time basis, but believe me, you can quickly grow a layer of rust in those two short years.  Recently I started listing and selling again (I sorely missed being in the trenches) and I was amazed at how fast the game had changed, and how many things I had to do to be prepared to make money as a real estate professional.  I'm still keeping my speaking career going (and I'm getting more business than I ever dreamed of for 2010) but I want to be fully engaged as a real estate professional.  I've quickly learned that working in the real estate business will make me a better speaker and help me relate to the audience more closely.

It's easy to stand in front of a group of people and remind them what to do, but it's a whole new world to stand in front of your peers, knowing what they're struggling with, and how the pulse and beat really works in the marketplace.  Don't get me wrong, I have some great friends who do not list or sell and are great speakers, but in the long run, they don't know what they're missing by not partaking in the day to day business.

I want all of my peers to know that as a speaker/agent/broker, I have grown to appreciate and love this business we call, real estate.
