Florida's Next Super Bowl will be an economic shot in the arm!

Florida's next Super Bowl is less than 2 months away now.  As we in South Florida prepare for the onslaught of snowbirds arriving daily, two extra special events will once again be hosted in beautiful South Florida.  We not only have the Super Bowl back in South Florida for the first time since 2007, we are getting the 2010 Pro Bowl a week earlier than the Super Bowl.  This is a big change from years past when the Pro Bowl was the week after the Super Bowl.  It also was held in Hawaii. Those of us who are big football fans in South Florida still hold a slim hope for our Miami Dolphins and the ultimate home field advantage.  As a huge football fan, not just a Dolphin fan, I am very excited no matter which teams make it here on February 7th, 2010.

The event will be a boon to the South Florida economy as well.  Most experts peg the economic impact to a city that hosts a Super Bowl at $350,000,000.  With the 2010 Pro Bowl added to the mix the numbers should be quite a bit larger.  With the way the Pro Bowl and the Super Bowl are set up this year, many people will come down a week early for the Pro Bowl and stay the whole week and attend the Super Bowl the following Sunday.

Palm Beach county is looking to make the most of it this year with many events planned.  In 2007 only one NFL sanctioned event was held in Palm Beach County. That was Super Clematis by night.  This year according to the Palm Beach Post, 14 events are planned for the Pro Bowl and the Super Bowl.  Many hotels are putting together packages as Landshark Stadium is only about an hour south of Palm Beach County.  The excitement is building with two undefeated teams, the Colts and the Saints, or with a possible Brett Favre return to the Super Bowl, the last few weeks of the NFL season are going to be very exciting.  As the weather up north turns frightful, in South Florida it is just delightful! Here is hoping many NFL fans come on down!

Yes and I am headed that way. It is probably one of the greatest events period. Even the Orange Bowl is a fantastic event. Florida just knows how to put on a show.

Michael.  I think it will be fantastic.  Naples has the Shark Shootout ,organized by Greg Norman, this weekend. Because the weather is so awful up north, they say it will draw record eyeballs! Can't hurt! We do DO  weather!

Stephanie,

Good luck with the Chargers!  They are looking very good this year so far.

Joyce,

We sure do know how to put on a show!  I am just hopeful while everyone is down enjoying the games they look at all the bargains here a pick up a second home for just such events!

Lana,

I agree our gain is Hawaii's loss.  We can share can't we?  One year here and one year there??

Marcia,

I didn't know about that event.  I will have to check it out this weekend.  Should be perfect weather.  Yes we do, and seeing the blizzards on the weather channel this week makes it just that much sweeter....
