Getting Chilly in Spokane - 5 Things to Prepare for Winter

By
Education & Training with Real E Smarter

Hello Everyone,

Well, there is no escaping it, winter is coming. beofre you nestle up to the cocoa and take your slippers off, you might want to chack a few items around the house.

Be Proactive1. Have your furnace serviced. The last thing you want is a foot of snow, 3 kids crying, and a furnace that isn't working. It will get a lot of work over the winter so spend $100 and have it serviced for the season. It may save you money on your heating bill.

2. Look at your windows. Are they closed tightly, do you have window treatments (they will reduce heat loss), close treatments at night when you go to bed, use storm windows or shink wrap plastic. put your hand around windows and doors to find cool air coming in.

3. Check doors. Something as simple as a door pad or door stripping can reduce heat loss.

4. Get your snow shovels early before all that is left are the cheap ones. It happens every year. Don't wait. if you have them get them out and make sure they aren't buried somewhere. It is less fun to dig them out after you need them.

5. Ice scrapers. Stop using the CD cover and buy two so you know you will not lose one.

Many people take their homes off the market for winter, but the fact is that in a market like we have now with lots of homes for sale, it is a better time to sell. It isn't winter online and most people can keep shopping from their cozy home. Call us to find out how we get homes sold in the winter for top dollar. 509-362-1966

Kim was using his credit card to scrape the frost off the windows the other morning. Didn't think about the CD case. :)

Have a great holiday, Ross!

Ardell - it is like being attacked by the cold, you grab whatever is close.

Ruth - I'm still in denial

Yes it came and went, feels like Western Washington winter now, a snow, then slush, then blue skies.

Yes the winter or winturn as my son calls it has winturned around. But I will take the clean streets and rain for now, Though I thought I was all proactive shovelling my walkway and getting ahead, then later the next day it all melted.
