a 23 year wait, and well worth it !
Humphrey arrived home in August at the grand ol' age of 12 weeks. In time to investigate, explore, and dive deeper into our hearts. Naturally, he already had a fan club -- with creative folks singing chants to welcome him - over voice mail no less, and visits with several sets of step parents :) showering him with attention...From the start, he was a champ at riding in the car. And actually went to bed with no crying - ok, that one we were SHOCKED at. We figure he is showing best behaviour the first hours, waiting until the maniac we know from visiting him in Sonoma peeks out.
He immediately started his job as lead mascot and troubleshooter at Welcome Home
... Helping Jim pull furniture and trying the warehouse toys was waayy too cool. (Imagine, if you will a puppy on a furniture dolly, rolling around. )
as a great help especially as he enjoys leading the way. He helped V pull art and maintain "control "in the office. At work, he was showered with visits and toys from new friends. He especially enjoys ANYTHING new and used water bottles -- the ultimate in recycling value.
The past few months have been filled with joy, adventure learning and love. This last week found HB relishing his first snow.He has us in stitches. Constantly
He's soft, (Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier),walks with attitude, and loves to give kisses.
Was Humphrey's arrival worth the wait ? You bet. Tooth marks on shoes, on pillows, on bodies. Late night wake up calls. The attention seeking missile that he is most of the time. All of it. The experience is all wrapped up in love.
