Weekly Inspiration - Be Part of the Shift

Well, in case you haven’t heard, the holiday season is officially upon us. It’s that wonderful time of the year when our homes smell a bit more festive from all the wonderful cooking and holiday cheer, the offices and shops are decorated and everyone seems to have an added bounce in their step.

And if you haven’t already, it’s also time to start shopping for Christmas [holiday] presents.

But with the new economy being what it is, many of us have less funds to use to share that holiday cheer. Getting that perfect present can be so much more difficult when the bank account is a little less ample than we would choose to have it. So what can we do to help keep our holiday game face on?

One of the things to remember, and it’s oh so true, is that people truly do appreciate gifts that come from the heart over those that come from the wallet. Taking time to really think about the person and what might enhance their lives or help them through something they’re dealing with may go so much farther than a tie or CD.

But it goes deeper than that. Over the past few weeks I’ve heard the same message from a couple different people and I thought it was important to share. It’s a new attitude for money. And this simple little shift in perception may end up being a major shift in your life.

Let’s take a moment to agree to shed some of the old paradigms about money.

  • It’s the root of all evil. No it’s not, it’s the evil people who are using money in an evil way.
  • The Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer. If you think and believe that, then you’re probably thinking of yourself as being ‘poor’. You’re not. Just the fact that you’re here, now, means that you’re rich beyond your imagination. You need to save for a rainy day. Now I’m not suggesting that you don’t take a portion of your income and put it towards your savings; but if you focus on a rainy day, you’ll get a rainy day.

So let’s decide to change the way we think about money. Think about how differently you may treat money if you move towards thinking;

Money is the Source of Energy

OK, now just stay with me for a bit. Energy can neither be created or destroyed. Everything is energy.

Think back to when the world was created. God gave us everything we needed right? We have the air we need, the sun to heat and light the earth, the food we need and materials for shelter. These were all given to us and amazingly, Adam and Eve didn’t have to run to the bank to withdraw cash to pay for it. Imagine how much money we spend on the things that God gave us. Electricity? Shelter? Heat?

We now spend money and energy getting back those God-given basic needs. Imagine what we would do with our lives (spend our energy on) if we didn’t have to worry about paying for our basic needs. So let’s shift our attitude and think of the energy that we have, that we’re giving, that we’re sharing and how it can and will come back to us.

Energy can neither be created or destroyed. So when you’re giving energy, bless it and expect it to come back to you ten-fold. Then pay attention! When you get a discount on something, that’s money coming back to you. When someone buys you lunch, that’s money coming back to you. When you pay for something, you’re paying it forward. You’re starting the cycle and expect that it will come back to you.

You must, however, remember to get out of the way of the “how”. Be sure not to anticipate where it’s going to come from because it can come from anywhere. For instance, I just got a check from my car insurance company for $50 for being a safe driver! I would have never expected that check. I was in a book store yesterday buying a book with the coupon I got via email. What I didn’t expect was that because the book was not in stock, I received an additional discount and the book is being shipped to my house. And while I was out I found something that I was already planning on getting a friend for Christmas and it was discounted by a little over $20!

Question: If you had all the money you could ever want and you were looking to give some back to your favorite charity, what charity would it be? If you don’t donate to charity today, think of one that’s near and dear to your heart and give. Even if it’s one dollar. This can’t help but be a donation with loving energy attached to it. If you already give to charity, try increasing the donation. Again even if it’s one dollar, and everyone shared in this, imagine the difference we could all make one energetic dollar at a time.

Be grateful. Appreciate what you do have.

When you are buying something or paying your bills, intentionally charge the transaction with love and give that energy out to the world. If we all give (spend) just one dollar more a day than we would have, imagine how quickly your situation would turn around. Instead of paying with a fear mentality, pay and share with an abundance mentality. Be thankful that you’re giving and expect to get it back ten-fold.

Be part of the shift.

Call to Action: Share this concept with at least 5 people! If we each spent one more dollar a day, think how much more energy would be pumping through our world.

Thank you Kathie...I really appreciate your post--very inspiring. It resonates with me in a big way. Perception gives rise to experience. And our perception is something we can manage on a very personal level. Thank you again for your message. I accept the call to action...your post is worthy of a re-blog and I will pass it along to others outside AR. Have a wonderful weekend...

Cheers,

john
