Comfort Food

This afternoon I was starving for comfort food. The kind that you scarf down hot andeat until you pop open. I thought about making a big casserole of mac and cheese, the ultimate comfort food. I actually thought long and hard about it. It is so cold and nasty outside and I just want to be warm  So after much thought I decided on a grilled cheese with a salad. Still good comfort food but with some green. Winter just does that to me. I want to eat everything in sight and especially the gooey, fattening stuff. I feel like a bear ready for hibernation. I want to curl up in a warm ball and sleep until spring. But since I am not a bear, I just need to eat and get my b--- back out there. Guess I better get finish this so I can start looking at houses again.

How are you handling the winter urge to gorge?

Here in Chicago, I make soups each week and that keeps me warm, diet in balance, but now that I'm looking at the grilled cheese sandwich ... I haven't had one in a while..... Hmmmm :-)

haha Jerri, I know what you mean.  We had chili topped with grated cheddar and chopped onions for lunch yesterday.  I've been thinking about a yummy grilled cheese sandwich.... :o)
