Week Night Open Houses

By
Real Estate Agent with Greene Realty Group

Our team is considering doing a week night (Thursday perhaps) open house to change things up a bit.  Has anyone tried this or have an opinion on best evening, time or whatever for open houses.  Our listings are piling up and there are a limited number of us humans to open the houses to show our sellers we are working for them.  Please give me feedback, advertising ideas; I really like Craigs List.  I just rented a house in Oregon via the "list" without leaving Olympia!

It would be great to get some input from those of you going to open houses as to when you prefer to go?  Weekends, or week-nights?  And do you really shop open houses to purchase, for entertainment or ideas?  My guess is all of the above which is great.

Thanks for sharing!

Good luck on that. Should be interesting to see if people show up

As I was driving home last night, I passed  a new listing off of a very busy street and thought the agent was crazy not to have it open during tourist season traffic (we live in a resort community and the streets were packed with people coming into town).

Here in DC, week night Open Houses are becoming more popular, although most of the people trying it are doing cocktail parties for other agents in houses that are huge or in new condo conversions.  In the summer, when so many buyers head out of town for weekends at the beach, I think that advertised public opens are a great idea!
