How reliable is your email spellchecker?

By

Have you ever had the fleeting thought: "Really?  No misspelled words?  Wow, my spelling must be improving."  I have a Yahoo! account for my email.  I after editing, and rewriting part of a 700 word resume I was about to send out to a potential client, I hit that little spell check button.  It told me I was clear, no misspelled words.  "Great!" I thought to myself.  But then it dawned on me.  Yahoo! ALWAYS tells me that my last name (Akers) is misspelled.  Not this time.  So I went to a sight that I recently discovered: SpellCheck.net.  All I had to do was copy my email and paste it into SpellCheck and *poof* there were all of my mistakes for me to correct.

Another great resource is dictionary.com.  This one is pretty self explanatory.  Sometimes I just like to have a second opinion, other than the spellchecker.

Hope this helps.  Has anyone had any similar experiences with their spellchecker?

I don't misspell words, I just type them wrong... I wish "spell checkers" would check for the proper word like to, too, two, there, their, they're, your, you're... etc...

Yeah, they haven't come up with a perfect way around proof reading.  Word for Windows could be a useful tool for you there.

John, thanks for commenting on my bathroom remodel photo, you really need to go back one post to see the toilet seat...it had real fishing lures embedded in lucite, it was amazing. More pix to come, even if you end up being the only comment! Stay tuned tomorrow.
