School Plays

I have a two year old son, he is my only child, and i went to see him performing in his first school play today "winter wonderland" he was dressed up like a snowman and shook a bottle of rice like a rattle. All you out there who have children, know exactly how the feeling is when i say that i was so overwhelmed at the 5 minute experience i was crying my eyes out while recording him. he he.

He got a little upset and wanted out from time to time, but the staff at Pineapple Cove Academy in Palm Bay are so awesome, they were able to keep him on an even keel and keep him with the program with little stress, i just wanted to run up and grab him and cuddle him. (my motherly instinct i guess, lol).

I don't know how they do it, they are so creative and organised, they are able to keep the children from a few months of age up organised to entertain us on occassions like this. It amazes me, the job they do. They also made the costumes.

When i first moved to Palm Bay, i went through hell and back researching and visiting every day care school that you can poke a stick at and found these.

Part of the many problems of finding a school suitable for my little angel was that he has JRA, so i guess you could consider him special needs at the moment, and most of the few schools that i was satisfied with didn't want to know. At Pineapple Cove Academy, they took him on and are extremely attentive, loving and caring, (to all the children) nurturing, and any children that need extra help, they are there for them. They help with my boy's physical therapy etc. They are awesome.

Tracey, these are the moments in life to treasure.  They grow up too fast but that doesn't mean they have to stop performing.  My daughter is 17 and is very involved in musical theater.  The performances get longer and sweeter.

Tracey, I'm so happy you found a good place for your son! How about some photos of the performance?

Tammie and Maria, I can't wait to see him perform every year. He melts my heart. And to know he is in such a wonderful school gives me complete peace of mind when i am not with him. As you know, it is very hard to find anything when you move somewhere new, but now we have everything pretty much figured out.

I didn't get any photo's of the performance because i was holding the camcorder, but i did get a photo of him in his little sitting room chair at home after. I will get the photo on here when i can figure out how to do it.

Tammie, it must be wonderful to watch your daughter when she performs.

David, wouldn't that be a hoot if he became a Realtor too and sat next to me doing his blogging from his computer, that would just tickle me pink. lol.

Andrew, I'm not sure, i will check it out this evening, either way i will get some photo's up. Thank you for the interest, it makes me happy. Before i joined AR, i thought blogging about stuff like this would be boring to other members, how wrong i was, it makes me feel like i am around friends when i get comments back.

Mr Snowman 1

Sorry for the delay, couldn't get stills from the camcorder, but here is Jacob in his chair at home "No Paparazzi Please" LOL.

Mr Snowman 2

Another one of Jacob in his chair at home after his performance. If you are wondering what that thing is on his foot? (everyone does). It is an AFO shoes after having a cast on his foot for 4 weeks to stretch his tendon and ham string because he has JRA, and before his diagnosis and treatment his joints had swollen like golf balls, which caused them to tighten that when he was responding to his treatment and was able to crawl again and walk he could no longer put his left foot flat to the floor.

I thank God every day for the Doctors, Pharmacists/Chemists, and the people who put themselves up as guinea pigs to test new drugs so that my son is alive today, if it wasn't for them, my son would have died in extreme pain before he reached 2 years of age at the beginning of December.

Anyway, i hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and new year celebrations.
