
Birmingham Michigan Real Estate Sales Rise Overall numbers for homes sold and sales volume have increased compared to 2008 figures. As of October 30th 2009, ,the number of year to date sales in Birmingham increased by a whopping 65.2%. In addition, total sales have ballooned to 118% more than last years figures.
A breakdown of these statistics show that all MLS sales in 2009 are at their highest levels since 2004, while October had the lowest on-market inventory (homes for sale) in any month since January 2006.
Much of these figures can be attributed to the $8000 first-time buyer tax credit and extension as the lower property values have helped buyers by a home in Birmingham.
Birmingham real estate is not only the recipient of good news. In Oakland County Michigan,real estate sales in October were 30.7% higher than last October, and the number of pending sales( contract agreed upon, but not closed) are up 25.6%
Birmingham is one of only a few cities to see an increase in the median real estate sales price.
