VOW and AVM on MLS

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with West Group Real Estate

For those of you that don't know, a VOW is Virtual Office Website and an AVM is an Automated Valuation Model and the MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service.  An example of an AVM is Zillow's Zestimate although Zillow is not a VOW. My website http://www.TetonPropertySearch.com is an example of a VOW (this site alows you the public to search the Teton Board of Realtors MLS including Driggs, Victor, Tetonia, and all of Teton County Idaho and Jackson Wyoming including all of Teton County Wyoming, although I do not have an AVM. Does this all make sense now?

Harley, I attended a class held by our local MLS regarding upcoming changes to our Advertising field to address how sellers may choose for their homes to show up in a VOW.  I am interested in hearing about your VOW and how it is working for you.

Hi Ann. I get about 1 buyer lead a day through my vow. I have not yet closed a transaction through the site, I just launched my RE business on Dec 4, 09. I have been a RE investor for the last decade and self employed builder and contractor for a decade before that.

Is there any differences between a vow and an I’d based website anymore
