Open House Kit

Real Estate Agent with Charles Ruttenberg Realty, Inc

I am a new sales agent working with my husband, (he is a realtor with several years under his belt). We are calling ourselves, the "Cooke Team" or "Team Cooke", whichever sounds better at the time.

We secured a listing last weekend and will be having an open house this weekend for an Executive Pool Home in Safety Harbor, Florida that is listed with some incentives for a quick sale. Please note, this is not a short sale.

I am putting together an "Open House Kit", that I plan to take with me on Saturday to make sure I have everything I need for a successful Open House. As a buyers agent, I am anxious to meet with potential buyers looking for executive homes.

In the kit so far is:

  • Our Open House Guest Register
  • Business Cards for both of us
  • Blank "As Is" Contracts
  • Blank Buyer contracts
  • Flyers for the neighbors (for a sneak preview that will be distributed on Friday)
  • Flyers for the guests
  • Home Buyers Passports
  • A "sugar cookie" candle to burn.

We will have our "Open House" signs and balloons out on Saturday morning.  We have marketed the open house in many websites and the MLS.

Do you have any additional suggestions that we should add to our "kit" to make this Open House a success? Would love to hear any suggestions.

Kim, first of all, congratulations on getting into real estate, and how wonderful it is to be able to team up with the hubby.  This alone will give you so much training and knowledge, that most new agents on their own do not receive.

One think I like to do at open houses, is recruit the services of a loan rep to sit the open house with me, and answer any questions about financing that may come up, as well as prequalify incoming buyers on the spot.  Good luck

Love the idea of the mortgage broker being at the open house with me. I just hung up the phone with a friend who is in the mortgage business and she may try to join in this weekend. It will be a win win for both of us if a deal is made.

Thanks for the tip!

I love the enthusiasm Kim brings to this profession. I always knew that if I could get her into the business, she would be far better than I ever could. I must say, some of my friends thought we were crazy to try to work together, but these first three months have been the greatest blessing I've known since we were married 11 years ago. Oh, there have been many blessings, but this rates as the top!

Great job, Kim!
