My ghosts of Christmas Past... long past, short past, my past.
I just love these walks down memory lane, I found some old photos, and a few more recent ones of those Christmases that stay in my memory. We each have our own traditions and backgrounds, our different memories, yet they are inherently the same. They all tug at our heart strings, and bring both smiles and a bit of sadness to mind as we look over them. No matter what holiday you celebrate, you will have your own special memories I am sure.
I hope this year will make many happy memories for the years to come for each and every one of you. For me, we have our own anticipation with the impending arrival of a new baby to the family, we have our 2 year old grandson to make us smile and remember the magic of the season through the eyes of a child. Make time to enjoy the simple things. With the struggles that surround all of us this season remembering that our homes need not be perfect, the gifts we give can be of the heart and not of the wallet, and the hardest gift of all is the gift of learning to receive.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and I wish all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010!
Please enjoy my ghosts of Christmas Past!
Andrea-I love looking at pictures-especially old ones. I don't have any from my childhood-maybe that is why I especially enjoy looking at others. Thanks for sharing!
Andrea - Those are very nostalgic photos that walk folks down Memory Lane. Gosh can I ever relate to the photo that has the boy with the cowboy gun holster on his hip. When I was that kid's age, nearly every boy I knew had one of those, and either a Schwinn or Huffy bike.
Andrea you spoke for many of us in this blog, and you final statement hit home for me, because that is something I still struggle to do. I find it much easier to give than to receive.
Merry Christmas :)
Andrea,
This is the time to make memories because tomorrow may be too late. Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi Andrea ~ What fun to come across these just now. I'm the keeper of my family's archives and we'll probably do some digging through the old photos over this holiday too. Loved seeing yours.

Hello Andrea,
Memory Lane is usually a safe and wonderful experience. Your photos are nicely arranged in order. It is almost hard to imagine that b&W and Sepia with pale colors was more the rule of thumb . especially for Polaroid shots. We have come a very long way, haven't we. BTW, the ghosts in this case all seem to be the good type, :-)
Andrea, I loved sharing your walk down memory lane! You were as adorable as a child as you are as a grown up Realtor!!
May your holiday provide you with many more warm and fuzzy memories!
Andrea - That's a great idea for a blog... now I have to do one... Cool shots and yes it is amazing how old family shots have such a similar look to them... Happy Holidays
Andrea, it's so much fun to go through old photos - our own and our friends' Thank you so much for sharing these.

I just love nostalgic photos Andrea and these span the generations !
Very best wishes to you and your family for a very merry Christmas !!!!
Craig, it is fun, isn't it. Hope you stayed warm, we are waiting and waiting and waiting for a blizzard. Was supposed to be here at 1pm, now it is 8:30 pm and nothing yet! Enjoy your walk down memory lane.
Matt, you are welcome! And thanks for stopping by.
Deb, no pictures? Well, we lost a lot of ours, so the few I have are precious. I have been working on scanning them in the computer. Thank you for stopping by, and stay warm and safe thru the storm!
Myrl, that boy is my brother! I remember every boy had one. I also remember an older cousin, Joanne Pease, she got a doctors kit for Christmas, she was bigger than my brother She tackled him and shoved the "pills" down his throat, despite his screams he got an exam! He should have pulled the gun, LOL. Oh, the bikes, LOL, you got that right.
George, most of us do find it is easier to give, I was told many years ago that it wasn't fair to give all the time, that I should let others give to me and accept it gracefully. That is a big gift to give them. Thank you!
Ann, you are right, tomorrow may be too late indeed. Thank you! And you have a most wonderful holiday too.
Liz, thanks! Have you started scanning them yet? Then you can share with us! :D
William, LOL, thanks! These are safe ghosts most of the time. And yes, we have come a very long way with photography, that's for sure.
Caren, LOL, you are too kind. And so far this holiday with the baby here is bringing back memories all right, and the total understanding of why we have kids when we are young, LOL. We are fighting for half an hour now to get the little devil to bed, we ALL need him to get to sleep! I will be laughing about these new memories for some time to come, if I can get a bit of piece and quiet.
Robert, isn't it funny how they all look alike? Glad I could help with a blog idea! Happy Holidays!
Pat, thank YOU! It is fun to share them, they haven't seen the light of day in years.
Sharon, thank you. It is really a mix of feelings looking at them! Sharon, you have a wonderful Christmas too!
VB, well gee, thank you! I love looking back at such a simple time in my life. And the memories flood in so strong.
Shel, that they do! Thank you for stopping by, and Merry Christmas!

Marchel, why thank you! And Merry Christmas to you too. :D
Ann, I know what you mean. I always make 5 minute fudge and give as gifts, but not this year. Just didn't have the time or the energy.... Merry Christmas!
Andrea...Don't you just love walking down memory lane? I cherish those memories, before you know they are gone with the blink of your eye!
