Great news for Palm Springs and Canadian residents alike. WestJet has just announced that it will begin offering year-round flights to Calgary from the Palm Springs International Airport starting in June 2010.
WestJet, which currently offers daily flights to Calgary-Edmonton-Vancouver, will begin offering flights to their Calgary hub on Thursday & Sundays starting in June.
The City of Palm Springs received over 128,000 visitors last year from Canadian passengers who flew to our desert paradise via WestJet.
What does this all mean? Palm Springs residents who want to get away from the summer heat can now travel to cooler Canadian destinations without having to fly out of Ontario or Los Angeles. Canadians who visit Palm Springs during the summer means more dollars are being spent in our local economy. It's a win-win situation for everyone.
The WestJet announcement helps solidify in the minds of all travelers that Palm Springs is a year-round destination resort. So start booking your vacations now!!
