I was raised in a Christian home and my mom would always say to us kids "God don't like ugly" She would usually say it after we did something like lying, say a "no no" word or when we were being greedy and selfish.
Now I am older and I don't need my mom to repeat those words to me, but I know and you know "God Don't like ugly". Being ugly would get you nowhere fast
Are you being ugly?
Do you find yourself lying? Do you make promises to your clients you know you will not honor? Do you make promise to get homes sold within 30 days? even when you know you probably won't. Do you promise to get a client approved with a special interest rate? when you know it won't be possible, but you said it anywhere, just to get in the door with the client? Whenever you think of lying to get a piece of business, remember GOD doesn't like ugly. The way I see it, a broken promise will hurt you more later-on.
Secondly - The "no no" words. When you think about talking bad about another agent, when you think about trashing another agent to close a piece of business, remember GOD doesn't like ugly. I would recommend, focusing on what you can do for a client and not on what others can't do.
Finally, being greedy, we all know of the agent that will do anything to get a client, regardless to how unethical it is. Good example the agent that would try to solicit clients who already have an agent... God don't like ugly, you might get a nice fine and in some serious problems with the real estate "God"....
It never pays to be ugly... so be "pretty" instead... God like that; not pretty in the face, but in your actions
