What Should I Do to Prepare My Hemet - San Jacinto, CA Home For Sale?

By
Real Estate Agent with Mason Real Estate CA BRE 01444168

Start by finding out its worth. Contact a Top Agent for a comparative market analysis, an informal estimate of value based on the recent real estate selling price of similar Hemet - San Jacinto, CA neighborhood properties. Or get a certified appraiser to provide an appraisal.

My own personal speciality is to provide a proprietary Master Market Analysis, or MMA - it's like a CMA on steroids.

Next, get busy working on the home's appearance. You want to make sure it is in the best condition possible for showing to prospective buyers so that you can get top dollar. This means fixing or sprucing up any trouble spots that could deter a buyer, such as squeaky doors, a leaky roof, dirty carpet and walls, and broken windows.

The "curb appeal" of your home is extremely important. In fact, it is the first impression that buyers form of your property as they drive or walk up. So make sure the lawn is pristine-the grass cut, debris removed, garden beds free of weeds and hedges trimmed.

The trick is not to overspend on pre-sale repairs and fix-ups, especially if there are few homes on the market but many buyers competing for them. On the other hand, making such repairs may be the only way to sell your home in a down market.

An inexpensive home staging consultation can make a huge difference for your sellers - making the most of a home takes more than than just making repairs.  Using design principles can make or break a home.  Give them every advantage!

Youou are right - home staging is a critical skill that I believe every marketing agent should either develop or recruit to his team.

Merry Christmas,

John

John... great of you to post here!  Please Stage-it-Forward more often.  I totally agree with what Beth said. Many times people view "staging" as a big huge process (it can be), but actually, the clients can do the work if they know what to do. That is why a home staging consult by a professional home stager is a great tool for Realtors to add to their services. Finding a quality stager who will work with you on your listings, is your ticket to selling success. Best to you John.
