It's that time of year, the time between Thanksgiving and New Years when business slows down a bit. People are more into Christmas Shopping and traveling then real estate. I welcome this time of year, it's almost like a vacation. If someone is buying a home now they are definitely serious about buying a home.
Sellers often let down their guard this time of year but they really shoudln't. Showings are fewer and further between but the people that are looking have got to be more serious. Keep up the house, make the beds, keep the litter box clean for those last minute showings. Sellers ask me all the time if they should decorate for Christmas. Yes yes yes, you should always make your home festive for the holidays. It will make the buyer think of homey thoughts, they may imagine their family or friends there celebrating the holidays.
Many home sellers take their homes off the market for the holidays, so making your home available for showings is a good idea.
