I believe there is a harmony to life that keeps me in sync and I think might help you. The sync works like this: I could work productively 12 hours a day, close 3 deals and get featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal but if one element of my mind, body or soul is out of whack I am not completely centered and my business suffers.

Consider that good sleep, exercise and descent nutrition are critical pieces of a puzzle that equate to a complete and more productive you. I know it's the holidays and life's hectic. We are all busy with everything from kids to shopping to soccer to doctor but take a bit of time every morning to consider the following three steps:

A: Have quiet time whether it's in the bathroom or lying in your bed before getting up. Close your eyes relax and think about all you are grateful for in your life. Maybe your grateful for your kids, job or roof over your head, even if it's not all you desire. Maybe if can't think of anything be grateful you woke up!

 

B: Take time to take care of the body that takes care of you. Whether this consists of walking the stairs instead of using the elevator, parking a bit further from your building or getting to the gym whenever time permits. You will have extra energy to get you through the day. You will be more alert, assertive and productive!

C: Nutrition. Here's where if I take the time to get some cardio or exercise in I make wiser choices as to what I consume. After exercising I am more likely to eat healthier as I don't want to waste calories on the effort I put into burning them! Allow yourself to enjoy dessert or sweets but insure that the bulk of your intake is good stuff. This will also give you extra energy, sense of well being and assist in preventing illness, headaches and depression.

I'm not going to leave out having time for you. Yes you! Doing things that make you feel special about who you are. Friends and family time is key to a fulfilling life and so is taking care of your needs! Maybe you enjoy reading or having tea with friends, or painting or a long lost hobby! Keep your interests alive. There who you are and what makes you special!  Practice these simply steps and your productivity, business and happiness is sure to increase!

There are a lot of really great points here Tom!   This is a tough time of year.  I usually go to the gym 3 to 5 days a week and it's been over a week since I've been there.  I feel so much better when I go regularly.  I try to always be thankful for my blessings and remind myself everyday to be happy.
