Is it just me or does life speed up during the Holiday Season? Mach 7 is just out of reach as it seems I can only handle Mach 6.99999999.
Looking into my shattered crystal ball once more it appears that 2010 is going to be a rather bland year as far as mortgage rates are concerned. It does appear that they will remain flat for quite a ways into 2010. Once the Fed quits buying the Bonds, mortgage rates will begin to increase. With the Feds current purchase of bonds we have an artificially induced low mortgage rate right now. This is certainly good for all us trying to fight our own personal recession as it keeps our house payments low and affordable for those who have been able to participate in these historically low rates. Don't worry too much about them rising next year as it will take a while for them to get "out of hand." But if you want to get in with these low rates while they are so low, do it during the first half of the year, or not much beyond that.
On a personal note, I keep remembering a great friend of mine from my military days "Boy Ballard." Some of you may remember this story but I'm going to keep it brief. As a young Military Policeman at Ft. Campbell Ky. I was on patrol with Ballard one day when we got involved in a life threatening fight, literally. He saved my life and I saved his that day. I can still remember how thankful I was while we stood with our hands on our knees trying to breathe again, and realizing what had just happened to us. Being a newly married man, my bride took a back seat to him as far as my favorite list was concerned at that point. We gave each other a quick slap of the hand, a manly thing, and didn't really verbalize our thanks that much. To my utter disbelief he was killed in a car wreck on his way home that night. All I did was postpone the inevitable that day. I think about him quite often, several times a month at least. After my little health issue this past Spring I no longer take this side of the grass for granted any longer.
It was that Military experience in life that brought about the "love ya" at the bottom of my e-mails and letters. This is my small effort to let everyone know that is in my life how much I appreciate you and I'm glad that I know you. Even if we only see each other briefly and not that often, you're still a special person to me. You have an impact on the lives around you and those you love and work with and you're truly a gift from God.
Merry Christmas
Love ya great big bunches!
