Jack's PondNorth Central Austin:  The neighborhood of Jack's Pond is a quiet little slice of suburbia just north of Wells Branch in what is called "North Central" Austin.  It borders Bratton Road to the east and Jack's Pond Road to the south.  It's between IH-35 and Mopac, but is tucked away from the highways and most easily accesses Mopac via Merriltown road.  This is one of Austin's newer neighborhoods, with most homes having been built in the mid to late nineties.  The average home is the standard single family 3 bed 2 bath home, though there are many 4 bedroom homes available as well.  The lawns here are beautifully landscaped and painstakingly maintained, making Jack's Pond an idyllic place to live.  Prices in this neighborhood start in the upper $100k's.

Although Jack's Pond is tucked away from busy streets, it still retains good proximity to retail, schools and other businesses.  It's a great location for any tech worker looking to live close to work at places like IBM and Dell.  It has a good selection of near-by coffee shops such as Starbucks, Kenny's Coffee Co and Blue Marble Java.  There is even some nightlife near by, like Raggedy Anne's, Texas Bar & Grill and The Delirium.  Nearby schools include Wells Branch Elementary, Shoreline Christian School, Star Charter School, Northwest Elementary School and Harmony Science Academy North Austin.  Also popular in this part of town are the churches, such as Shoreline Christian Center and the Abundant Life Community Baptist Church.  Both churches serve to host a lot of community events, such as the upcoming New Year's Eve celebration at the Abundant Life church.
