Windsor ParkEast Austin:  Windsor Park, contiguous with University Hills, is a growing neighborhood within the new development of Austin's North East side.  It is bordered by IH-35 to the west, 183 to the east, Hwy 290 to the north and 51st street to the south.  Depending on where you live within the neighborhood, you can have easy access to the highways for commuting, or you can live tucked away from the noise.  This neighborhood is absolutely teaming with beautiful oak trees in almost every yard, making for a great place to spend time sitting in the hammock outside.  Most houses in this neighborhood were built during the 1960s and 1970s though of course there are newer developments.  The average sale price of a house is in the low to mid $200k range.  Windsor Park has been more of a seller's market in the past compared to the rest of its zip code, 78723, though the trend has been leaning towards a more balanced market in recent months.

Windsor Park has a very active neighborhood association, originally founded in 1982 to lobby for its own library branch.  It took nearly 20 years but they finally got it!  Today their focus is on creating an active community within Windsor Park, providing information on local goings on and organizing neighborhood gatherings.  Windsor Park also has two lovely parks for anyone's enjoyment.  Bartholomew Park is the biggest in the neighborhood, featuring disc golf, two playgrounds, swimming pools, tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, a volley ball court, multiple barbecue grills, covered picnic areas, and much more.  The other park in the area is Dottie Jordan Park, which has similar amenities.

Local schools in the area include Blanton Elementary, Andrews Elementary, Harris Elementary, Pecan Springs Elementary, Winn Elementary, Pearce Middle School, Kealing Middle School (Magnet program only), Johnson High, and Reagan High.  Area libraries include the Windsor Park Library Branch, which features wifi and a Wired for Youth Center; Little Walnut Creek Library, University Hills Library Branch and St. John's Library Branch.
