ARE THE HOLIDAY'S MAKING YOUR BUSINESS SLOW?

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL (CHILLY) DAY HERE IN VENICE, FLORIDA!

HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 68 DEGREES

It's that time of year again, the holiday season. It is a time when people travel, shop for the perfect gifts, and spend time with their family and friends. Purchasing a home is usually the last thing on any one's mind. However, I find this year to be my business holiday season.

With the market being flooded with foreclosures and first time home buyers I find my business not slowing down but rather speeding up. December is the time when I try to build up my inventory and line up buyers to start next year off running. This year I have been farming Venice Island. Venice Island has old Florida charm located on the Gulf of Mexico. There are waterfront properties, a beautiful Main Street, and shops and restaurants.

I have been sending direct mail to roughly 1,000 single family homes on the Island for the past 6 months. Just Listed, Just Sold, Price Reductions, Letters to sellers after the tax bill came out, and holiday cards. While doing the mailings may seem overwhelming, after the 4th mailing I have seem a boost in the number of calls I get. My listings are up and will help kick start 2010.

I find that buyers are ready to put in offers. Foreclosures make it more affordable to purchase a home and with low interest rates and the government tax credit it is a no brainer. I firmly believe that the tax credit is helping the real estate market out of this recession. People that were on the side lines are now ready to get in the game.

I look forward to 2010 growing my book of business, educating my customers, and making people's dream a reality.

Steve,

The holidays has not hindered my real estate business in Palm Springs.  I have noticed an increase in calls in the last few weeks and more deals are being put together during this time.

Stay focused on all your efforts and you will have a prosperous 2010.  Merry Christmas!!!

That's great that you have people responding Steve.  It is extremely quiet here in my area.  We're all hoping things really pick up after the holidays.

Our phones are still ringing and we even have a closing scheduled for tomorrow and another one after Christmas.  Snow storm didn't seem to slow anyone down a bit!
