Tuesday today.

Today is the Tuesday before our Friday Christmas holiday.  Traffic is lighting up the streets, these Southern California skies are as gray as a white Christmas gets for our city.  My 4 year old son did an "I'm Excited" dance for the Christmas tree this morning, then I promised him we'd make chocolate chip cookies for Santa while I was dropping him off at his daycare so I could make my appointment with my clients who just got in town the night before from Texas - we had a Move-In inspection to complete. 

He and his family are relocating for his job from Texas out to b-e-a-utiful California and they have a daughter who lives here in Murrieta, so they decided it would be nice to be near her and their grandkids.  During the Thanksgiving holiday last month, they were out here looking for homes they could possibly be interested in renting, but like many potential Tenants, not a single agent called them back. 

As an agent, I do tons of marketing in an effort to recruit clients so I can help them and we can build amazing relationships with their new home together.  After all, a house is only a home when it has it's own family.  Mike and his family were somewhat nervous about this move, which is understandable as Texas is nothing like California and nowhere near it, but were even more nervous because of the lack of follow-up done by other agents they tried to work with. 

Here's the kicker!

They called me!  And I called them BACK! 

I sent them some listings, checked them out.  Did my job as their Real Estate Agent.  Got their application accepted, and quickly too I might add.  Lastly I met them at the OTHER agent's office - we had a nice chat about Texas, and how when Southern California weathermen talk about BIG WINTER STORMS, to just brace yourself for a little bit of rain, and maybe a lot of wind. 

The house they picked was absolutely ADORABLE!  Mike's daughter and his wife are two gorgeous ladies.  And our Move-In inspection didn't turn up anything. 

I really, really enjoyed working with Mike and his girls, and I hope they are returning clients in the future.
