I am really enjoying your photos. You should go away more often. Is there a story about this colorful rooster?
Patricia, I love this photo...but it makes me think of three words: coq au vin! :)

Very good looking guy! I don't like them, but they can be wonderful to look at. I was attacked you know, while feeding a calf a bottle. The devil came right up behind me and got me on the backside. I had a bruise the size of Manhattan on my rear.
And the church is beautiful too! I love it when you go away, LOL.
Yum a chicken in every pot. Guess though this might be a tough old rooster though. Merry Christmas.
Wow - the colors in that picture are AMAZING! That's a fantastic shot - he looks so cocky! (teehee pun intended!)
What the cluck is that all about Patricia?!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!!!
All the best in 2010!
Pat - he's pretty colorful, isn't he. HOpe you're having fun in Maui. Seems you chose a great time to be away.
Jeff
The colors on that bird are amazing. Have fun in Maui while I'm snowed in in London!
Oh wow, this just reminded me of my grandfather's farm in Puerto Rico. He had a boat load (technical term) of roosters and about the same number of peacocks. Thank you for sharing and merry Christmas.
Pat - What a great photo. I love the colors so sharp and bright in the sunlight. Happy Holidays!
Pat,
I actually had to dodge a chicked that was crossing the road today and, in so doing, I almost creamed a squirrel.
Pat, What a beautiful bird....almost majestic with those beautiful colors.
Hi Pat... I was going to launch a double entendre as a comment to you, but I am just not Greg Nino, so I will just say "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" :)
Patricia,
I used to race horses, and have chickens. When you take a horse and feed him a high protean diet and lock him in an 8 X 8 stall they get to be what we call "Tracky". Another name for grouchy. Giving a race horse a friend such as a chicken or a goat in thier stall made them much friendlier.
This chicken looks similar to a Russian Red. I had a Mexican Gold that we called Rainbow. He would ride around on the back of one of our horses and keep him company.
Merry Christmas and a profitable 2010.
