Great post, I am learning so much from people like you and I really appreciate everything you share.  I have had the pleasure of conversations with Laurie Manny too and she is a great lady.  I wonder if she would be willing to become my writing coach as well?? 

I do so enjoy reading from all of you who are so willing to help newbies like me and give us the confidence to take our first flights.

Active Rain is a great place to share and learn.  I big part of that is due to the great members on our system like you and several of the members you mentioned.

Colleen, I can not begin to tell you how much I have learned about the internet since I became a member on A/R.  Everyday I learn something new through A/R members.  (Maybe to good)  I went on a date the other night and the woman wanted to know more about me she went to google and typed in matthew mortgage... All she knew was my first name and what I did... and through A/R I was right on top of google.... Don't know if this was good or not in this case...

Excellent links at the end of your article. I just spent quite a bit of time reading through all of those posts as well. I hadn't seen some of them. Funny I just did a post on how complicated I think it all is. There are so many differing opinions out there. I certainly don't think its easy. I haven't heard of one thing you mention though... to write 3-5 a day versus 3-5 a week. Have you found that frequent of updates really to have that significant of an impact with search engines?

Nice article!  I appreciate the links all in one place.  You write 3 -5 articles a day?!?!?!?  WOW!  I've been having difficulties just trying to read and comment the last couple of weeks.  How do you find the time and the articles?  I guess I need to find a person that will guide me on these matters. . .  I do appreciate what you write and for your contributions to the AR community.

I love the part about reading articles you don't understand, you wrote: "If you are floundering my best advice is to sit down and start reading.  If what you read is beyond you, read it again and again.  Research and learn.   It is the best thing you can do for your business! "  thats how we grow!

Good post and smart advice to recommend these well written post on SEO. I do find it somewhat of a mystery how Brad Carroll's blog on SEO would have been omitted from your recommended list. This is especially interesting in light of the fact that his blog has been consistently the most subscribed blog on AR since he came on the scene in late May. Disclaimer: I work for Brad and we are related.

How exciting to read your new stuff, Colleen!  I'm sure the results will be forthcoming in the next 90 days.

Laurie Manny can offer the budding weblogger excellent advice about how to write articles that search engines will pick up.  Even more amazing is that she practices what she preaches.  Fans of LongBeachRealEstateHome.com will see that her efforts have skyrocketed her to the top of the search engines.

Laurie wrote "Do You SEO ?", a practical guide to writing to attract search engines.  I first criticized her for revealing her "secrets".  Her willingness to share prompted me to share my viral marketing ideas, against my initial thoughts of hoarding information.

Petty people hoard, successful people share.  Clearly, Colleen, you and Laurie are the latter.  I'm trying to get there.

Thanks for your insights here. We're kinda new and have heard good things about you already. 3 to 5 posts a day? Sometimes we do that and more, but most everything we do is specific to our market. It's a tough one these days, and we're really focused on it, especially now in the aftermath of our fire.

Am going to add you as an associate and subscribe, then look at some of the folks that you mentioned above. Want to get as familiar as we can about the ritual here.
