44% increase over November of 2008

With all the negative reports about real estate it always is good to get a breath of fresh air isn't it?  I read a report yesterday that said home sales were up 44% Nov 2009 vs. Nov 2008.

We need to roll that momentum into 2010.   There is a lot of talk out there that the 1st qtr is going to be great and then slow down fast come April.  What are you hearing?

Our market here in Birmingham was up 46%.  I think it is very good thing.  Only time will tell what will happen after April 2010.

What do the words "up" and "increase" mean?

I seem to remember hearing those terms in connection with real estate many years ago.

Where is my dictionary? : )
