Through Sunday, January 3. Holiday House Tours. Experience classic holidays during our tours of our decorated house museums: the Robert Mills House, Mann-Simons cottage and Hampton-Preston Mansion. Guides will provide stories of holidays past in Columbia and discuss how families decorated and entertained during the 19th and early 20th century. Through Thursday, December 31. Ansel Adams: Masterworks From the Collection of the Turtle Bay Exploration Center, Redding, CA. This collection of 47 gelatin silver prints by Ansel Adams represents a selection Adams made late in his life to serve as a representation of his life's work and what he felt were his best images. Called "The Museum Set," the full selection of 75 images reveals the importance Adams placed on the drama and splendor of natural environments. Included in Ansel Adams: Masterworks are many of Adams' most famous and best-loved photographs that encompass the full scope of his work: elegant details of nature, architectural studies, portraits, and the breathtaking landscapes for which he is revered. Through the end of the year, visitors can take a ride through the Cayce City Hall complex and enjoy the magic of thousands of twinkling lights, dazzling holiday displays, and music of the season. Through Thursday, December 31. "Snowville". Experience the magic of winter-inside! EdVenture Children's Museum proudly presents "Snowville," an interactive exhibit that contains all the fun that snow has to offer without having to go outside! Learn about the fun of snow, the joys of ice skating, the excitement of sliding down snowy hills and the fun of throwing snowballs, as well as the science of snow, just how cold is snow, how are igloos made and what types of penguins live in the South Pole! Through Thursday, December 31. Lights Before Christmas Riverbanks Zoo. Come experience nearly one million twinkling lights, countless animated images, dazzling music in motion lights spectacular, nightly visits with Santa through Christmas Eve, a Tinkerdoodle Christmas in 3D, warm memories and holiday cheer around the Jingle Bell Bonfire, plus hot cocoa, marshmallows and other festive foods available for purchase! Saturday, December 26. Snow White. Queen Velanosa has been crowned Miss Fairyland for the last twenty years. But this year the judge is the dragon slaying Prince Justinian, and he picks the Queen's assistant, Snow White. It will take the help of the Queen's huntsman and some mysterious forest dwellers to protect her from the jealous Queen's wrath. This is your last chance to see this performance. Tuesday, December 29. Photography Workshop & Winter Starlabs at Winter Fest. Got a new camera for Christmas? Thursday, December 31. Countdown to New Year's Eve. 2010 is almost here! Ring in the New Year at EdVenture's kid-friend celebration! This event allows children to celebrate the magic of New Year's Eve as they countdown on EDDIE's watch to 12 noon! Thursday, December 31. WOW! 2010. It's almost time to ring in the New Year, and for families, the biggest event in Columbia is WOW! This family friendly celebration at Finlay Park begins early and ends in plenty of time for mom and dad to also have some time alone later on in the evening. From 4p.m. to 9 p.m., children can have their faces painted, ride ponies, gorge on all kinds of festive food offerings, enjoy carnival rides, and the entire family can enjoy live entertainment! Thursday, December 31. Annual New Year's Eve Party. Flying Saucer Draught Emporium's annual New Year's Eve Party will feature live music from The Dave Matthews Tribute Band, as well as party favors and a champagne toast at midnight! Flying Saucer is located at 931 Senate Street in the Vista.
