New years eve traditions!

Here are some fun traditions to start with your family and friends at your casual at-home New Year's Eve gathering:

-Instead of eating at the dinner table, why not have your celebratory meal at a coffee table? It's cosier and more intimate when everyone is seated on the floor on pillows.

-A congenial way to usher in the new year is to make a fondue so family and friends can enjoy dipping chunks of bread into a cheese or chocolate treat.

-As you wait to ring in the new year, play "Do You Remember When ... " about events that happened to family and friends during the past year.

-Start a memory book, listing the most memorable happenings of the past year. Each year, add new ones.

-Make it an annual tradition to spend New Year's Day filling up the photo album with photos and captions that capture the highlights from the past year.

Try one or all of these new year traditions!

These are some wonderful suggestions.  I sure wish now, after being married for 35  years, that we had done some of these.  I would love the walk down memory lane on New Years Eve~!

Hi Sean ~ I usually spend the evening watching the Twilight Zone marathon but these are some really good suggestions.  Like Janna mentioned they're the kind of things that are just fabulous to start early on in your family - but will be treasured whenever you start I think.
