What? You have NO New Years Resolutions?

New Years Resolutions I happen to be one of the 350 Million people that are addicted to the Facebook phenomenon and when my "friends" talk I listen.

It seems that a great many people are of the opinion that having NO resolutions for the New Year is the way to go.

But what does that leave you to look forward to?

Come what may?   ~   It is what it is?

Whatever happens....happens.

Live in the moment.  ~   Take one day at a time.

Que será, será.

Well,  I will be the first to admit that certainly is the easy way to go!  Ahhh....the joys of becoming a free spirit just floating along in the breeze and landing wherever the wind takes me.

But aren't New Years Resolutions just goals that you set for yourself as you reflect over the past year and make a decision to change what you didn't like and improve on those areas in the coming year?  You know, like to make yourself a BETTER person.

Goal setting of course can be as large or small as you would like for it to be and can cover many different areas of your life situations.  I personally think that New Years Resolutions should be kept to a simpler choice that you are more likely to attain.  Back to the basics of everyday life. When making your list of goals KEEP THEM SIMPLE!  No reason to move mountains...just think that at the end of the year if you have accomplished one, two, three or more SMALL improvements to yourself how great you will feel!  I think one of the reasons some people choose not to make any at all is fear of failure, but just remember.....you have a whole year to attain the goal!  If you slip up and break your resolution, don't give up and give in......just keep working on it!

Two years ago my resolution was to quit smoking.  I DID.

Last year my resolution was to lose the extra pounds that I gained from quitting smoking. (Yes it is a vicious circle isn't it).  I am still working on that one!  15 Down - 15 to Go ....Guess I will have to ROLL that one over to next year!

Here is a list of MY New Years Resolutions........

  • SHOW THE LOVE!  Take more time to show the people I love how much they mean to me.
  • HEALTH AND FITNESS  15 more pounds + an exercise program
  • ENJOY LIFE MORE    I worked on this one last year also and enjoyed it SO much I shall add it to my list again this year!
  • LEARN SOMETHING NEW My goal this year is Photography!  I have a new camera and a new book to read...after that maybe a class!
  • HELP OTHERS  Not sure what this one will be yet, but I will approach the New Year with my eyes open to recognize the need.
  • GET ORGANIZED  Yep, another Rollover!  Are we ever really organized?  The never ending resolution of all time!

So see how easy that was!  Now for the hard part.....KEEPING THEM!  But I am not afraid because I have lots of peeps that love me very much and I just put my resolutions out there for everyone to see so if I slip up I am sure that they will be right there to remind me!

How about you?  Have you made your list of resolutions yet?  What are you waiting for?  Get busy.....and be sure and share them with me so I can nudge YOU with a friendly reminder if need be!

You can also click on this link to my post from last year for more tips on how to keep your resolutions!

I think I can, I hope I can, I KNOW I can!

Oh, and you see that beautiful beach up there in that photo?

..........I definitely resolve to leave as many footprints in that sand that I possibly can!

May you all be blessed in 2010

with the Best of Luck, Love and Prosperity!

Debbie, I don't make resolutions like diet, exercise more, etc... because they are too easy to break. What I do is make specific goals and break them down into smaller goals that are obtainable.

Hi Debbie, I believe in recycling as much as possible. So, I'm digging around for my 2009 resolutions, and as soon as I find them I'll change the date. Best to you in 2010.
