Built beginning in 2000, Encinitas Ranch is on the grounds of the Paul Ecke Ranch, a world renowned producer of poinsettias. With about 1000 homes on approximately 850 acres, Encinitas Ranch combines residences, open space, hiking trails, and a golf course along with the remaining agricultural areas of Ecke Ranch.
Residents in Encinitas Ranch have lots of shopping and dining options, both in the downtown area along the coast and in the El Camino Real shopping corridor. There is a terrific produce market, the Saxony Market, located nearby.
Quail Botanical Gardens, recently renamed the San Diego Botanic Garden, is an amazing collection of plants, flowers and trees on a 30-acre former estate not far from the ocean at the southern end of Encinitas Ranch.
The Encinitas real estate market offers 14 homes (2 short sales, 1 REO) for sale in Encinitas Ranch as of this writing, ranging in price from $630,000 (for a 3/2 1625 SF short sale) to $1.9 million, with up to 6 bedrooms and 5 baths, and 1625 SF to 6133 SF of living and entertaining space. Residents pay both HOA and Mello Roos fees, up to around $472 per month (there should, of course, be verified).
There have been 18 Encinitas homes sold in Encinitas Ranch in the last 6 months at an average price of $1.072 million.
