My Meeting with Rudy Giuliani

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Florida Partners

Rudy Giuliani at AIP in Daytona BeachMayor Rudy Giuliani paid a visit to AIP in Daytona Beach yesterday as a stop on his campaign tour.  I have to tell you a story about being in the right place at the right time.  I was at a 4th of July party with friends and family and I was introduced and in conversation with Greg, one of the executives at American Industrial Plastics.  We were talking about the AIP and their niche in the plastics industry and manufacturing.  I was a manufacturing engineer in the plastics industry prior to getting into real estate so I was reminiscing somewhat about my previous life.  Greg mentioned that Mayor Giuliani was in town and making a visit to his manufacturing facility to speak to his employees and a few select people from the community.  Greg asked me to join them to hear Mayor Giuliani speak.

Giuliani gave an impressive speech as expected and hung around to meet with people afterwards.  I did get a chance to say hello and shake his hand.

I have not made any decisions about who will get my vote for the presidential election but I have to say that I am impressed with what Rudy Giuliani has done for New York City.  You have to commend him for how he handled the terrorist attacks on September 11th and kept everyone positive through such a devastating time.  I don't think anyone would have wanted to have the responsibility he did during the terrorist attacks.

He did a great job of cleaning up crime in the city and completely turned the unemployment situation creating a great deal of new jobs.  He also emphasized his plans to focus on our nation's k-12 school system and the need to put the choices back in the hands of the parents.  Government has too much control of decisions made in our schools both nationally and on a local level.

There was plenty of press there to cover his arrival and a story in the News Journal today about his visit and his plans to attend the Pepsi 400 on Saturday.

Regardless of how the presidential election turns out, I am honored to have met Rudy Giuliani.  I owe you one Greg!

Ian, what great luck.  I saw him speak on Fix news and I read his 12 Commitments to the American People and was pretty impressed.  It's going to be a long race but I like what he had to say.  Congratulations on meeting a potential President!

Wow rubbing elbows with Rudy!

I agree he did a nice job of cleaning up New York. We visited New York last year (my wife and I) and we were amazed at the city. I have not visited New York for about 15 years and back then it was a real mess. On this trip we did not have to worry about where we were walking and cabs were available and clean.

best regards

Glad to hear about your experience. I've been wondering how Giuliani might do in the elections.

I had the opportunity to introduce myself and shake his hand at the Pepsi 400 and he was very interesting. He has a lot going on but was very personable. I also haven't made up my mind but he seems like a strong candidate.

Ian, I would have loved to have met Rudy. I was living in Upstate NY at the time of the attacks, I was very proud of him. You're so right about how he cleaned up NYC before, people tend to forget that.

I don't think it mattered who you were planning to vote for, I think getting the chance to me Rudy is pretty cool. Personally even if I had a chance to meet any of the candidates voting for them or not, I would still want to meet them and maybe ask them a question or two.
