BANK Causes HAIR LOSS!

By
Real Estate Agent with California Lifestyle Realty DRE# 1780607

I just got off the phone on another short-sale call.  This time they called ME-- but it was NOT good news.  I have a signed offer from OCTOBER 21,2009 and have FAXED 71 DOCUMENTS in entirety TWICE!  Now they inform me that all information must be uploaded into their system via EQUATOR, an outsourced processor.  Am I STARTING FROM SQUARE ONE ....AGAIN???  The appraiser is coming tomorrow-- and today I am scanning and uploading the 3rd Party Authorization form, and the initial offer and date. He assured me that the Appraisal would continue and be input from their side.  He assured me that NOW the process would move along more smoothly and efficiently.  He assured me that the 20+ other Agents he spoke to this morning were all not as ANGRY as me.

I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!  IS THIS HAPPENING TO YOU TOO??

Hi Kathy - If you haven't already done so, you should join ShortSale Superstars.  It is a great website with many informative discussions, including some comments about Equator.  It was started by two Active Rainers who specialize in short sales and I have found it helpful  - even if just to vent to others who are going through the same things!

Equator is just a piece of software the bank are using to track and manage short sales, not an outsourcing company per se. It's a good thing. All the docs and timelines for response can actually be tracked now and you will have PROOF that you uploaded the items.

I have had this happen to me...you are not the only one. Hang in there and get the deal closed.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.... I have always tried to avoid short-sales, but in this case a friend needed help.  And I am chocking it up as a learning experience!  Kathy

Hi Kathy: Notice they only call you when something is wrong - never with good news!

Kathy- Is it Bank of America or someone else?I have been working a file assigned to Equator since September (check out my blog, I did a blog about REOTrans/Equator.) Anyway, I think it will go a lot smoother in the future but the growing pains have been horrible.
