Lake WaconiaLake Waconia is a popular 3,000 acre lake located beside the town of Waconia, Minnesota. This makes it the second largest lake in the seven county metro area of Minnesota. The beach area sits on the southern shore of Lake Waconia and has views to Coney Island. There is a picnic shelter, volleyball court, swimming area and restrooms. Umbrellas for shade were also recently added.
Lifeguard service is also provided. This is managed by the Carver County Parks and Recreation.

Lake Waconia also has an Event Center. Here you can have wedding receptions, meetings, family reunions, banquets or corporate events. The Lake Waconia Event Center was previously known as the Waconia Lakeside Ballroom and is a well known historic landmark. It is spacious and can accommodate up to 800 people. The Event Center also has free parking, a wooden dance floor, a large bar and a stage for entertainment.

The lake is also ideal for fishing! It is primarily managed for walleye, largemouth bass, and muskellunge and secondarily for bluegill, black crappie, and yellow perch. During the winter, the lake freezes and ice fishing is very popular. According to the most recent fishing report, the ice thicknesses ranges from 7 to 9 inches in Waconia Bay, and 6 to 7 inches in Cemetery Reef.

Carver County Parks provides a sledding hill at Lake Waconia during the winter. Users need to bring their own sleds.

Plenty of family fun is found at Lake Waconia, whether it is during the summer months or the winter months. This makes living in the city of Waconia never boring.  To learn more about Waconia, visit JeffSchulzHomes.com.
