According to the National Association of Realtors, existing home sales for 2008 dropped 10% from 2007. This was dismal as compared with the experts who had higher expectations, especially based on the low Federal interest rates. But the brighter news about real estate markets began to peek through the storm clouds in 2009.
From the period of January through the end of November 2009, instead of being off by 10%, the single-family sales volume was short by 6.3%.
From the Colorado Springs Real Estate perspective, according to the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, “sales for the first 11 months of the year exceeded totals by 3.6 percent.” This is good news for Colorado Springs Realtors and the consumer alike.
