STAGING A POWDER ROOM FOR THE HOLIDAYS

By
Home Stager with HOME STYLE AND STAGING LLC

I know I am alittle late in posting this, however, recently had to make-over and stage a powder room for the holidays. As you can see there was wallpaper that had to be removed or painted over. The owner opted to paint over the wall paper and the results were amazing. This dark green wallpaper was covered in only two coats of white paint. The budget on this home was very slim so I had to "make-do" with what we had. Except for the wall decal which I found at HomeGoodson sale for $7.00 and the towel set was only $12.00 on sale. Don't you just love Home Goods !!!!

I loved the outcome of this small powder room and all on a small budget !!!!

Mary Lou, Wow what a difference!  I had no idea you could paint over wallpaper, and it is such a chore to steam it off first.

Gary as you can see from the "before" photo I had started trying to remove the wallpaper but it had been up for so long, I decided to paint over and it worked perfectly..

Very pretty Mary Lou!  I'm glad there are others who aren't totally objecting to painting over wallpaper.  Sometimes that is the only alternative.  Thanks for sharing this!

Hi Mary Lou,

I have also painted over wallpaper and have it turn out great.  Don't you love those wall decals?  I did a post on them a while ago, as I used them in my last project in the kids room - music notes and bird cages.

I have the chandelier in my boutique.

I am thinking of using the fireplace wall decal in my living room in the spot where I want us to put in a fireplace: until we can find the the design we want.

Happy New Year!

I have the decal also in my home...and it was very easy to paint over the wall paper..the best part is that you can"t even see the wall paper thru it and it is white paint..not bad for a fast stage...
