Proud to be a Texan

Moving from Maine to Texas

Learning how to be a Texan, heck I thought all you had to do was buy a cowboy hat and a pair of boots and learn to say howdy or y'all.  I keep getting teased about my dialec like saying caw instead of car, or pawk instead of park and the next one which got me in trouble was pawty instead of party.

I was watching TV recently its called "Texas Country Reporter" and they showed  a Adult educational class in Kerrville named How to act like a Texan. Not only is the cowboy attire required but learning to say Y'ALL and as your driving lifting your index finger indicating hi.

One of the things I have learned since I have moved here is Texans are very proud and very very patriotic. Texas has its own pledge to the flag, I was and am so impressed with the Texan culture.

My question to you Y'ALL tell me what makes you so proud to be a Texan and your story...

Hi Ron -- I moved to San Antonio to marry a gal in 1997.  It was great living there but I missed my home in Honolulu every day I was gone.  Took me 7 years to convince this Texas gal that we really needed to return to Honolul. I'm home now and don't think I'll ever leave again but did enjoy my stay in Texas especially the food.  Congratulations on becoming a Texa.  Aloha
