Michigan has been among the hardest hit of the states during the real estate and foreclosure crisis of past years. Once proud downtown buildings now stand in shambles as a testament to the bad decisions of days gone by. I felt that my readers would find these photos from Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre Photography interesting, and yet sad.

I am saddened about the plight of my hometown. Used to be the 'place to be'. Of course every now and then I still
Steve I live in Birmingham, Alabama now and have been here for over 20 years, so I'm not feeling Detroit's pain so much. But my immediate family is still there. Detroit is one city that I would definitely like to see make a comeback in a major way.
