The End of a Decade!

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 New Millennium

It's amazing to me that we are at the eve of 2010.  This is not just the eve of a new year but a new decade!

I remember so clearly 1999 and all the drama that was predicted with the potential Y2K problems.  I can hardly believe that it was 10 years ago.  I look back over these 10 years to see how much in my life has changed.  In 1999 I was a newlywed working on my dissertation, living in an apartment in Silver Spring finishing up grad school while my husband was living in Williamsburg finishing up law school.

Since then my husband and I finished up grad school, got jobs, got laid off, changed jobs, had 2 children (ages 7 & 4), bought 3 houses, changed jobs again, been diagnosed with a chronic illness, buried our best friend and some important family members.

I am amazed at how much has changed in this decade.  We are completely different people.  There has been a lot of growth in these 10 years, 35 is way older than 25.

I am excited to see what changes the next decade will bring personally as well as professionally.  I am sure I will look back on today and think how young I was and how much I have grown.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, & prosperous 2010 and a wonderful new decade that brings nothing but positive changes in your life.

Y2K LOL !!!  I forgot about that.  I remember waiting to see if all the power in the world was going to go out.  A lot has happened to me in the past 10 years.  on 1/1/2000, my first son was 6 mos old, we lived in a cramped townhouse.  Since then we've moved into a nice large home, I've been through 3 cars, I became a real estate agent, then became a broker, I've seen Markets going up 25% a years, and markets where everybody I know is loosing their homes.  It's been an interesting 10 years.

I can hardly wait to see what the next 10 years hold.  Life is hard now, but good.  I am hoping it gets better.

A fine 10 years for me too. Highlights for the 10 years were my citizenship and having a child.

Jim - Isn't it amazing how much living we can cram into 10 years?

Gene - I am hoping it gets better too

Ellie - I didn't even think about getting my citizenship but that was definitely a big change for me too.
