A few years back when my kids started using portable CD Players alot and other battery operated toys, etc., I decided to collect their old batteries. We placed an old large jar out and began saving. Not only a green thing to do but really the right thing to do.
Last week it finally became overfull. Smoke alarm batteries, remotes, cameras, toys, Guitar tuner and the list goes on. My wife took them in this week to recycle. It was pretty painless and only $1/lb!
So we took them to Batteries Plus on Drake and they were great.
I did get some rechargeable batteries this summer and that has slowed it a little but recycling batteries in Fort Collins is pretty simple.
