| Gaithersburg Committee Vacancy Updates |

The Mayor and City Council are seeking members to serve on a number of City committees. Joining a City committee is a way to get involved and help the Mayor and City Council in their strategic planning process. All committees act in an advisory role. City staff help facilitate meetings and report recommendations to the Mayor and City Council. Preference will be given to Gaithersburg residents and those who have businesses within the City.
The following committees have vacancies:
- Animal Control Board (1 member and 1 alternate member. Incumbent member is seeking reappointment in 02/2010. To be considered for Animal Control Board, a letter of interest needs to be received by the City no than January 15, 2010)
- Commission on Landlord/Tenant Affairs (1 alt. tenant, 1 alt. at-large)
- Community Advisory Committee
- Cultural Arts Advisory Committee (and Subcommittees)
- Educational Enrichment Committee
- Environmental Affairs Committee
- Gaithersburg Senior Advisory Committee
- Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (1 member, 2 alt.members)
- Multicultural Affairs Committee

Planning Commission (1 member - Incumbent is seeking reappointment in 02/2010. To be considered for Planning Commission, letter of interest needs to be received by the City no than January 15, 2010)
Some vacancies have occurred because of term expirations and, in some cases, committee members may seek reappointment.
