Using the Feng Shui Principles for Your 2010 Business Road Map to Success!

By

Since the practice of Feng Shui has been around for 3,000 - 5,000 years and has brought prosperity and good luck to many, I felt this was the perfect place to look for business guidance for 2010.  Of course, prosperity in Feng Shui is associated with much more than wealth, it also encompasses good health, positive relationships with others, auspicious opportunities, meaningful spiritual life, and more. Feng Shui translates back to two elements - wind and water. Without realizing it, you may have blocked the flow of chi (life giving energy that flows through our bodies) by the unfortunate positioning of an object. Feng Shui does recommends creating balance and harmony through the use of the  5 elements (water, wood, fire, earth, and metal) in every room.

If you are new to Feng Shui, here is a Feng Shui Cheat Sheet blog that explains all the basics:http://activerain.com/blogsview/1314589/using-feng-shui-to-correctly-prepare-your-home-for-sale

Many individuals are initially attracted to Feng Shui focused on increasing their business or financial wealth but are pleasantly surprised what the simple re-arrangement of furniture can achieve and the simplifying of certain cluttered areas can achieve. A Feng Shui practitioner will use a Baqua Map and place it over the blue print of your home to identify which areas of your home require action to create your desired life changes.

According to Feng Shui, a harmonious life is built upon of the following three principles:

1.  The First Principle ~ This principle believes that everything in the world, including your home and all of its contents, are alive with chi (energy). Possessions in your home that hold negative associations will foster negativity and keep unfortunate circumstances in place, while the complete opposite is true with positive associations; a positive object will attract good fortune to your home. The goal here is to surround yourself with objects that enrich your life in some way and that uplift your spirits every time you see theme.

2.  The Second Principle ~ The second principle supports the idea that we are all connected to people, places, and things, and the stronger our connection to all of these, the more prosperous our life will be. This principle encourages you to try and heal old wounds, create meaningful relationships with others, and to create a supportive environment. Any items that cause you physical or emotional distress should be removed from your environment in order to lift your mood. Furniture should be arranged so you enjoy optimal views and display personal objects that keep your spirits lifted.

3.  The Third Principle ~ This principle believes that everything is constantly changing and that you should embrace change as your ally. By making positive changes in your living space (through simplification and organization) you will be able to realize your goals. By letting go of all the excess items in our lives, which tend to cause stagnant chi, you open up yourself for positive changes to occur.

The sooner we all realize how connected we truly are, the better off we all will be.  By looking to the past for guidance, Feng Shui has given me such positive guidance that has really improved my life. If we all implemented the Three Feng Shui Principlesmentioned above, positive changes will only follow.  If you walk into your home every night and the lack of lighting bothers you, please go out and pick up a bright decorative lamp and remedy the situation.  If a person has wronged you and angry thoughts fill your mind continually, forgive them for yourself and move on.  Forgiveness is not a sign of weakness, it takes much strength to forgive someone (who may not deserve it).  By having a home that is clean, de-cluttered, and organized, your life will become easier and you will be able to find everything more quickly without getting annoyed.

My goals (business and personal) for 2010 are to try to implement all the Feng Shui principles to enhance my life and my families.  I would like to wish all my AR friends a Happy New Year.

Thank you Kate for your simple and to the point explanations on this blog and on your link. I have bookmarked both for ongoing reference. I've been wanting to implement more Feng Shui into my own home and so I've decided that the mirrors in the master bedroom will be the first to go, (as much as possible) followed by adding more red to my office since I'm told that I'm a FIRE.

Kate,

I sincerely agree that the flow of chi has a place in every home.

"Without realizing it, you may have blocked the flow of chi (life giving energy that flows through our bodies) by the unfortunate positioning of an object. Feng Shui does recommends creating balance and harmony through the use of the  5 elements (water, wood, fire, earth, and metal) in every room."

Agents should consider using a professional stager, such as yourself, who knows how to create balance and harmony in any home.

Staging makes the difference between a sale or no sale.

Thanks for starting off our 2010 with such great inspiration!

Happy New Year!

Hi Kate,

Boy I really need some Feng Shui for my home office right now. I use the basic principles all the time with staging but in this case the "cobblers children have no shoes." I'm going to get cracking this afternoon.

Pat ~ Thank you, much success to you too.

Mandy ~ Glad to hear it, thanks for posting.

Ginger ~ You're welcome, I like to keep things simple in life - why complicate things.  I had a feeling you had a great, outgoing personality from your picture - that explains the FIRE!  I just treated myself to a red (floor length) wood coat for Christmas, I always have more energy as soon as I put it on ;-)

Carra ~ Thank you for your kind and supportive words; if we are live positively and treat others well - what a great year 2010 will be.

Fred ~ You're welcome, Thanks for stopping by.

Cathy ~ Thank you, I actually sleep much better since I let go of some past negative feelings.  Life is too short to foster negativity.

John ~ I think a lot of people implement Feng Shui principles and other parts of it and do not realize it, they know something just feels correct or better.  This is what started my interest as well.  Thank you for stopping by.

Carole ~ Thank you very much for all your kind words and I am so glad you invited to join the Feng Shui for Real Estate Group (way back in July). I have learned so much from reading all your fantastic blogs and my love of Feng SHui has really taken off.  Thanks again.

Ty ~ I hope your Sphere of Influence enjoys the Feng Shui principles and thank you for posting on my blog.  Happy Holidays.

Gary ~ Glad to hear about your wife, I thing Feng Shui does enhance our lives.  Thanks for posting.

Susan ~ I understand and do not be to hard on yourself, my home needs some de-cluttering and organizing after the holidays (asap).  It is true, the cobblers shildren have no shoes! I was so busy working this December, my husband put up the Christmas tree and decorated it for me - I am very lucky to have him ;-)

Rita ~ I cannot thank you enough for always commenting on my blogs and supporting me this year.  I really appreciate it.  I wish you all the best for 2010.

Ken Lauher ~ Thank you for commenting on my blog and I will definitely take some time to read your blog.  I took a quick look and it had some Feng SHui office tips which looked great.  Thanks for stopping by and sharing your knowledge with us.

Donna ~ That sounds great, please let me know you enjoy your training at the school. I am sure you will enjoy learning more about Feng Shui.

Could you also give us some booster thoughts on elevating the energy in our offices?   Mine always seem to attract a paper blizzard and feels a little dark and closed.

Thank you, Kate. Excellent post! I loved the way you explained the FS principles.

Spring and summer are the best seasons for changing and regenerating energy. Ottom and Winter are for stability

I really trust Feng Shui and I see that this knowledge works very good when you also visualize all the things you want in your life (abundance, good health, love, creativity, etc.) at the same time you are doing Feng Shui.

Remember to put a fountain or a picture of water in movement (like falls or ocean) in the left corner you see when you open the office's or room's door. This is the Wealth Area.

Let me suggest a book:  "The Western Guide to Feng Shui", Terah Katharyn Collins, is very good to use in our American houses and offices  that don't have all the curves and design chinese have.

Have a woonderful weekend

Maria
