What worked in 2009 --- Wear the Hats that Fit --- the opportunity at hand --- Project Manager and Public Artist ---

As the development consulting work summarized in Part 1 began coming to a conclusion in mid 2009, my consulting clients wanted to begin a major landscaping phase. My services as project manager of the landscaping work started a new contract. After selecting a landscape designer to offer a basic concept plan, I went to work enhancing the idea with some 3-D structural overlays.

Eventually we began landscape construction at the front of the property where a public art installation was called for in the development of a plaza.

I seized the opportunity to offer my own bid in doing the implementation, and based on my track record for successful delivery, and decades of art production, I was given the nod and a reasonable budget for development of the public art plaza. In less than 30 days the construction was completed.

The public art plaza now has an 8 spoke "Dharma Wheel" with a rock column Peace Pole carved with the saying "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in the center of the wheel area. The plaza became an immediate gathering place for visitors to the property. Being paid as a pubic artist was very gratifying.

Using your special knowledge and experience to assist others can be a valuable career enhancement to your regular real estate work in 2010.

Look forward to finding and wearing the hats that fit in 2010 . . . and enjoy!
