Well here in Massachusetts it is snowing, so I know Hawaii would always look appealing it certainly looks just inviting today.  I was wondering if you could answer a question regarding buying property in Hawaii.  When we visited I thought we were told we, not being native born to Hawaii, could only lease the land not buy it.  Did I misunderstand or did someone mis-speak - it certainly would be a beautiful place to retire to.  Thanks for your help.

It is a beautiful day (sunny and warm) here in Kauai, Hawaii today.  I know about snow.  I was born and raised and lived in Minnesota until 6 years ago when we moved to Kauai. I don't regret the move for a moment.

You don't have to be a native Hawaiian to purchase property here.  It is true that there are some lands that can only be leased by native Hawaiians but the vast majotity of property is fee simple (you own the land) and can be purchased by anyone.

Just another example of why a buyer needs an experienced, professional realtor to clear up some of the myths, rumors and misunderstandings.
