My wish for 2010 >> Tina is my preacher of the decade!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage

After nearly 30 years in the real estate industry I have seen just about everything there is to see. I have seen marriages and divorces, friendships made and broken in anger, families split apart by heirs that are angry because they don't think they got their fair share.

I have seen business parters that were partners for decades split in anger. I listen to Dr. Laura on the radio and the amount of families that have been split apart due to religion, children, drug addiction, infidelity, alcoholism and much more is rampant and out of control. Some people come into our lives and stay awhile while others leave for whatever reason and some even choose to hurt us.

Whatever it is let us all remember that we have a choice. We can continue to dislike or even hate or as Tina says "I don't care who's wrong or right, I don't really want to fight no more".   Like me or not, agree or disagree, it doesn't matter and holding on to anger is harder than walking away and not hurting anyone. Letting it go and choosing to accept the fact that it really doesn't matter who's wrong or right is awesome and has allowed me to be at peace like never before.

There it is...My New Years wish for 2010. I hope Tina's message rings loud and clear!

Fred - Thank as always my friend and lets just remember it takes much more energy to fight and be angry than it does to forgive and walk away. Happy New Year my friend!

George, I hope you have a wonderful 2010.  With all the trouble in the world, more than ever, we need not to fight among ourselves.  Here's to a better world.

Awesome, George!  I learned long ago (the hard way) that there are some things that just don't need to be fought over ... in the end it won't matter anyway.  So I had to teach myself to just nod and take comfort in my own thoughts.  Life is far too short to spend it in anger or hurt.  It really does pay to realize that some people just aren't going to agree with you, want to be around you, accept you, etc.  Just let it go.  If/when it's time for it to work out ... it will.

Excellent George.

Are you sure you have seen it all in RE? That's what makes our career so much fun, every transaction is different and fun.

God Bless.

Hi George.  It seems the older I get the more I'm convinced that I don't know anything!  Meaning - when I was younger I was sure that I knew it all and was always right.   I talked more than I listened.  As I age. I listen more and realize that there is so much yet to discover.  Being right at the expensive of others is a high price to pay.   Thank you for the spirit of your post.

Happy New year - by the way - I grew up in your neck of the woods and have many family and friends still in the area.  I love it over there!!

George, Just when I think I have seen it all I see something else. I just came through what was probably the most difficult transaction of my career.  It was all for a $65,000 sale (lol).  My wonderful late Christmas present was that it closed on Monday!  Happy New Year!

Happy New Year George.  It all comes down to the ego, doesn't it?  The healthier it is.....the less one "needs to win."

This is an important message and I think you are right about this... no reason to hold on to negative emotions... I have been a mediator for many years now, and usually, these emotions can be overcome with some communication!  Happy New Year!
