The start of a new year has so many promises. I look at it as having a clean slate, a chance to do and be better in mind, body and spirit.
Today we took down all 4 Christmas trees and all the trimmings and looked around at a less cluttered, clean home. I am so thrilled to be starting the New Year off with the knowledge that I know where things are and I have the ability to access them in the event of an emergency. We are in such a hurry these days and I want to share with you this tip to help you be prepared.
Could you find your birth certificate or child’s immunization record in less than 5 minutes? My confession is that until today I couldn’t have met that challenge.
I highly recommend 1 binder that holds all of your important documents such as the family social security cards, birth certificates, copy of driver license, immunization records, even an emergency stash of cash.
Scattered documents stored throughout the home will slow you down in the event that you need 1 or all of the documents. Some even suggest that you have a copy of all of your contact numbers.
When you’ve rounded up your documents, talk to your family and decide where this essential binder will be located to reduce confusion and stress if the unthinkable happens.
If you have found this information helpful or you have something to add please share with me your thoughts and comments so that we may learn and grow together.
