East Goshen Township Christmas Tree Pickup & a Change in Trash Days

Real Estate Sales Representative with RE/MAX Preferred, West Chester, PA, RS152252A RS152252A

Just a reminder to all East Goshen residents that there is a change in our normal trash days that will start tomorrow, 1/4/10.  All residents living north of Paoli Pike and also all residents of Clock Tower (as if this isn't confusing enough) your new trash days will be Monday and Thursday.

All residents on the south side of Paoli Pike, of course with the exception of Clock Tower, will be Tuesday and Friday.

The normal recycling will be the first day of the two, Monday or Tuesday, depending on where you live.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas tree recycling pick-up will be Wednesday, 1/13/10.  The township recommends you put your tree at the curb the night before and remove any plastic bag that may be on it.

Bulk trash days for January are 1/14/10 for the homes north of Paoli Pike and 1/15/10 for the homes south of Paoli Pike.  See the township website for items that are considered bulk trash.

I'm glad they didn't change the pick up days where I live!  I've only lived here 6 years and I still have trouble remembering to put the trash out!  : )

Chris, this is one of Jack's jobs around here.  The last time they did this he asked me twice a week when trash day was until I finally put a giant note on the back door.   I guess we are back to the note again... the township reason is that the people south of us lost more trash days due to holidays than we did (never mind that Christmas and New Year's fell on our trash day this time around).

Hi Susan:

Hopefully all townships are making these types of arrangements with recycling.

Have a wonderful New Year!

Santa's littly recycler. I love it. We do the same here in Crofton. If the tree is more than 4 feet tall though, they request that it be cut in half.

Toula, some of the other townships have tree drop off which isn't as convenient, but certainly doable.

Richard, that's kind of inconvenient.. having to cut it.

Hi Gary!

Phil, every year I fight getting an artificial tree and I don't know why, because the entire tree experience is very frustrating.  First there is the argument over where to buy it, how much to spend on it, etc.  Then there's the cold to factor in, getting the tree home and hoping it doesn't fall off the top of the car, and getting the tree in the stand, and the needles everywhere.  I'm surprised the tree in my living room isn't bald yet, there are so many needles on the floor!

Susan~ I'm glad we only have one trash pick up day a week.  But we do have only certain times and days we can water our lawns in the summer.  I didn't have to wory about a tree this year, I want back to the Chicago area to visit my family.

Great post. I am NOT waiting until our son comes home at Spring Break like we did last year. He is taking that &#*^$@ tree to the recycling center today as soon as he gets off work!

Happy New Year Susie!

I need to get my tree out soon, but I am not looking forward to the trail of needles going out the front  door!

WOW, you live in a city!  I have no trash pick up, no tree pickup...  We all take our own trash away from our houses to a "convenience center" that we all call "inconvenience centers".  There used to be dumpsters "conveniently" placed at the end of most populated county roads, but the county commissioners decided that was "unsightly" and we lost everything but the name "convenience".  My tree on the other hand this year will be weighted down and put into the lake for fish habitat.
