Recently while performing duty agent for our firm I sat an pondered why was I in Real Estate. I immediately realized when my client walked in looking for her first home that I wasn't in Real Estate to merely make money. This particular client was a first-time homebuyer as many of us were and she had so many questions and concerns.
She was open to any suggestions and would have taken any advice. I was glad that she consulted and expert that could look at her financial situation to help her find the right home for her, in a price range that she could still finish her college education and have a great starter home. She purchased a home, not with a high comission for me (initially) but with word of mouth she has given more business because she was impressed with the level of service
Clients like her should make us all realize that we are here to give the clients our best. Giving the clients our best service regardless of the comission keeps us grounded in the fact that we are helping out clients make quality life decisions. In the long run, there was more comission from helping the lowest comission client from being led astray from all the wrong information that she received from her friends and family.
We Real Estate professionals are here for the client and not for the comission. The comissions is the product of an outstanding service render. Thought of the week: If you do not render outstanding service, do you really deserve the comission?
