Mid-Century Modern Home Staging in Historical Gastown, Vancouver I had fun staging this condo, located in the edgy, up-and-coming area of Gastown in downtown Vancouver. This area of Vancouver has become a mecca for upscale, modern furniture stores and local clothing designers. There's a real urban city feeling, and I delighted in playing up the suggestion of a chic, artsy lifestyle. I also wanted to create a Parisian apartment ambiance, and dotted little touches around the condo, such as an Eiffel tower, a book entitled My French Lifestyle, and artwork with "pomme" and "poire" written beneath the apple and pear, to give a sophisticated atmosphere. Very classy and chic-I love this style of staging and the bar stools are my favorite!! I have the same bedding. :)
Nancy - Thanks - it was a really fun job.
Liz - Je les adores aussi - vraiment chic, n'est-ce pas?
Lori Kim - Merci!
Cathy - I was trying to repeat the circles, since the counter was curved, and the pendant lights were round - the bedding was neutral AND had circles. The bar stools are great, because they're see-through, and visually don't take up space.
Cathy, yes, we'll meet at the RESA conference for sure - can't believe it's just around the corner. Really looking forward to meeting you in person.
WOW....this looks like such a fun project and the final result is stunning!
Way to go Sally! You did a great job, it looks fabulous. Love the new look of the Gastown area. I wish you much success in the New Year :-) Lisa
Sally,
Just beautiful! Love the Barcelona chairs....one of my personal favorites. Best wishes for a successful 2010!
Thanks, Michelle, I love the Barcelonas too. And how about the Harry Bertoia bar stools!
Sally,
Beautiful job. I am also attracted to French style. I love Paris and the Provence area.
I look forward to meeting you one day. We are only a 40 minute ferry ride away from each other. I am not going to Vegas, so it will be interesting to hear what you learned.
It looks super, Sally! Guess I'm not alone in saying I love the chairs. Do you have your own inventory?
Hi Deena, Thanks! Actually, my photos aren't very good - My client just had a photographer take some photos of the place and they look so much better. i instantly thought of you. Yes, I am now the proud owner of several pieces of furniture. At first I thought I'd store them in my basement, but it's becoming evidently clear that it won't all fit. Now the dilemma is finding a storage facility and sucking up the monthly storage rental fees. Good grief. |
Hi Sally, Yes love the mid century look and have been in love w/ those Barcelona for years...one they will be mine :) They go very well with you bar-stool selection too, well done!
Thanks, Cynthia. The chairs were a bit of an investment, but hopefully they'll pay off in the end. Fingers crossed!
Hi Patricia, thanks, I bought the chairs from Inspiration Furniture on West 6th.
