What Goes Around Comes Around

"Nice job guys!" as quoted by Yahoo.com in their explanation of what builders, mortgage, and the resale real estate industries have done to flatten the real estate market reputation in the media. They have deflated its value in the economy. It just isn't a quick 'n easy fix 'n flip market as it was a couple of years ago. No instant gratification here! However, let me remind everyone that real estate is the essential safe investment over the long term. Real estate has a consistant cycle. When there is an over-abundance of available houses for sale there will be downward pressure on sales prices. As homes are consumed, competition intensifies for the dwindling reserve thus sending home prices into orbit. More homes are built or dumped back into the market, thus creating an over-abundance, and on it rolls. Simply put, if you understand that, you understand real estate. Those who coordinate buying and selling to best profit from this ever- turning cycle have the greater advantage. My final words, "Rock n' Roll guys!"

Barbara,

Welcome aboard the Active Rain Train! You can find lots to write about here...

As for the reputation that our profession has in the media - some of it is deserved, and much is not. We have a few skunks in our midst, and maybe the down market will run them off. Let's hope so! Thaks for noticing, which is the first step in solving the problem...

Good post, I agree with Patrick that the heards need to be thinned. Too many agents looking to make $$$ not have a career

In an effort to stay cool during the hottest part of the Arizona summer, as I'm snacking on a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich, I came to the realization that the career-driven, time-worn, dedicated real estate agent truly is the Skinny Cow. Willing to stick it out through feast or famine to see that the best interests of all who seek the American dream of home ownership becomes a reality. A continual diet of marketing materials, open houses, networking agendas, researching market values, incorporating technological advances to give us the cutting edge, telephone and personal contact routines, creative buyer incentives, all without an assured monetary reward maybe to disciplined for some. The meat that we are made of maybe skinny and tough but we are determined survivors!  The agents who are in it for an easy dollar, think again!  The fatted calf is in slaughter house!
