Many energy efficient improvements made in 2009 to a primary residence have money attached to them in the form of a rebate or an incentive of some kind. Check out your state to see what qualifies. A number of these incentives go into 2010 so if you have been putting off buying a new dishwasher, refrigerator, furnace, programmable thermostat don't wait too long - you could miss out.
I found 2 that I qualifies for and 3 that our son Nick qualifies for in 2009, we will also qualify for additional rebates in 2010. There are some benefits to living in a demolition zone!
